Book of the Month:

  • Read the assigned genre.

  • Complete the weekly questions.

  • Keep track of pages read on planning calendar.

  • Bring your book to class and Academy.

Weekly Vocab:

  • New words are given on Monday.

  • Practice is checked Wednesday.

  • Quiz is Friday.

  • Please note that the roots will continue to build on the quizzes until told otherwise. Each week there are three roots. By Unit 4, there will be a total of 12 roots to study for the quiz, for example. 

A typical week in ELA:

M: New Vocab

T: Sentence Stalking (grammar skills)

W: Check Vocab practice

Th: Journal entry

F: Vocab quiz and current event or poem
